Automation Electrical Tech II - 2nd Shift New Bern, NC / Full-time Your responsibilities Design, build and/or maintain electrical/electronic equipment to include but not limited to test equipment, automated assembly fixtures, material handling systems, and production counting systems.
These systems can be made up of but not limited to PLC's, AC/DC circuits, servo controls, robotic systems, welding systems, electro-mechanical devices and electrical test equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills using wiring diagrams, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics and other documentation is required.
Requires experience & knowledge troubleshooting industrial controls and machinery.
Weekends, Holidays, Alternate shifts and overtime may be required to meet production requirements.
Major duties and/or responsibilities to be performed which account for more than 10% of the job or are critical to the successful performance of the job.

) Follow safety requirements as they pertain to work performed (Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Arc Flash, etc.
) Perform work within your physical capabilities.
Ensure all safety devices on equipment are functioning properly.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area by 5S standards.
Manage time to complete scheduled work and respond to equipment breakdowns.
Maintain and troubleshoot electronic/electrical equipment to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Utilize PLCs for troubleshooting machine issues.
Troubleshoot programs for PLCs.
Create and improve programs for PLCs.
Troubleshoot and repair robotic devices.
Build new electronic equipment from schematic designs including selection and lay out of components as well as circuit testing and debugging.
Program bar code scanners for use in unit identification and quality assurance process.
Apply automation process to fixture applications to increase efficiency.
Calibrate instrumentation as needed.
Fully and accurately document all work performed utilizing the SAP PM module.
Maintain the documentation for existing equipment and machinery.
Develop recommended spare parts lists for equipment.
Communicate directly with OEM support groups if required.
Communication to customers regarding work order status and repair follow-up to ensure that the equipment is performing to their expectations.
Communication of work status, issues and follow up requirements to the Team Leader, Supervisor, and Planner.
Support the TPM program according to the BSH Production System Lead Root Cause Analysis events for significant equipment or process failures.
Mentor and train new & less experienced technicians.
Train & develop maintenance technicians in electrical and controls troubleshooting & maintenance.
Participate in Continuous Improvement Process.
Occasionally analyze, discuss, and solve complex maintenance problems with sub-contractors and suppliers to avoid supply shortages and factory shutdowns Perform all other duties as assigned.
Your profile Associate degree (Electronics, Industrial/Electrical Systems, or similar field) - Required 5-7 Years of Experience (Technical Manufacturing environment) - Required Good communication skills.
Strong personal computer skills.
Knowledgeable in programming programmable logic controllers.
Skill in the use of standard electronic shop tools and instruments.
Ability to read and interpret electronic schematic and wiring diagrams.
Must have exceptional knowledge of machine controls.
Thorough understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, electromechanical devices, network, data/tele communication systems.
PLC experience required.
Be able to handle pressure, interruptions and meet deadlines.
Good understanding of factory and environmental safety.
Any of the above requirements/qualifications may be waived for the successful candidate.
Travel Percentage - 10% Your Pay & Benefits The pay range posted for this position is based on the location noted in the posting title.
Exact compensation offered may vary based on your specific skillset and work location.
If the position is bonus or incentive eligible then the maximum payout potential is 200% of target with details laid out within the plan document.
