Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their seafood selections and answering any questions they may have - Receive, inspect, and store seafood deliveries to ensure freshness and quality - Clean and sanitize work area, including cutting boards, knives, and display cases - Package seafood products for sale, ensuring proper labeling and pricing - Prepare seafood items for cooking or consumption, such as filleting fish or shucking oysters - Maintain inventory levels and rotate products to minimize waste - Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a seafood department or restaurant setting - Knowledge of seafood varieties, cuts, and cooking techniques - Proficiency in using knives and other kitchen tools for seafood preparation - Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate weighing, packaging, and labeling of products - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service - Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry - Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) - Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Note:
